My Grandma's Viewing

This is a classic picture of my Grandma. I remember her telling me it was taken in high school. She actually had sent this picture to my Grandpa while he was on his mission.
I loved looking at pictures of my Grandma and reflecting back on her life
The pink shoes in the corner of the picture where the shoes my grandma wore while she was in the rest home. They were her absolute favorite.
My Grandma made a beautiful bride!

My Aunt made these tile pictures for her siblings for a gift a while ago before my Grandma passed.

A cute picture of my Grandparents attending the temple together.
This note was written by my grandma 3 years ago. My parents put it in a frame along with pictures of our family including the one of my grandma and I below.

Roxy was wiped out during the 1st half of the Viewing

Roxy and Alivia are buds.

Jake's family came to the viewing. We sure do appreciate their love and support.

Roxy just loves spending time with her Grandma's

Families are Forever....

Well Jake and I started off our morning with a 10 mile run....yup Jake's longest run ever and he is sure feeling the pain from not doing much training for it but he doesn't regret the accomplishment. We started at his parents house and ran just past the point of the mountain. It really was an enjoyable run, I am so happy that Jake did it with me, I want to try and run every April now in memory of my Grandma as a new tradition. I had her on my mind most of the run and it helped push me when I didn't feel like my legs could run any longer. What a strength she was and still is to me.
After we finished our run I got ready to go over and finish dressing my sweet Grandma....I wasn't sure how I would react to seeing my Grandma in her casket but as soon as I saw her I felt at peace. She looked like an angel. It was such a special experience that I will never forget. I also had the opportunity to touch up her nail polish and put pink flower stickers on each of her ring fingers. I put the same kind of flower on the center of my locket that she had given me. Oh how I am going to miss my sweet Grandma and all the time I spent with her. My In Laws were so thoughtful to get me one of those angels that have no faces, they got me the "spending time with Grandma" one. I broke down in tears when I got it, it was such a special gift. Joy has given me 2 other Angels as well that I just love.

After we dressed my Grandma, which included my 3 Aunts, Grandpa, my dad and mom, we all went out and had lunch at Costa Vida. It was so nice being gathered together as a family and sharing memories of my Grandma and the wonderful person she was. My Grandma was truly all about Service, especially when it came to serving her family. Her entire life was devoted to us and I couldn't thank her enough for the impact that she has played in my life alone.
After lunch Jake, Roxy and I went to the same floral shop that my Aunts went to for my Grandma's flowers. We picked out 3 Gerber daisy's, one for each member of our little family and we got a big yellow sunflower in dedication to my Grandma.
I also felt like I wanted to get her something that would be more lasting and since I saw that she had many bracelets on when we were dressing her, I wanted to add to the collection. The first bracelet I saw was a pink charm bracelet with a small hanging watch attached to it. I kept looking around but I knew that the charm bracelet  was it. I decided to get me a purple one for myself as well. I have it hanging in my car now. I like that it has a watch on it because to me it means Time is infinite when you think about it in an eternal perspective....there really is no End. Families can be together forever and what a comfort that is. At my grandma's viewing I placed her bracelet on her wrist with Jake by my side. I have been so grateful for his love and support.

Today has been such a special day that I hope to keep in my heart forever. I feel like if I treated everyday life like the way I felt today, I wouldn't let the little insignificant things in life  get to me and I would focus more on the important things in life like Family and my role as a wife and mother. I want to be better at treating life as if it could be my last and try and enjoy each moment. One thing my dad has always said is that life is to short to worry and not be happy. I also like the saying....Life isn't just to be endured but ENJOYED. I will leave it at that since we have a long day ahead of us tomorrow...

Roxy's 1st Easter!

I just love this pic! Roxy kept wanting to stand on her own, she would stick her butt in the air first and use her hands to help her stand all by her self! She even took a couple steps towards her momma! She is a walking baby!

Just before we headed off to Utah we had an Easter dinner on Saturday at Gpa Mutt's & Gma Patty's. Randy,Wendy and little Jake Joined us. It was the first and most certainly not the last dinner consisting of funeral potatoes and ham. We ended up having at least 4 more of the same sort of dinner. Good thing we love funeral potatoes as fattening as they are :)

I picked up this Easter bunny I just couldn't resist getting for Roxy. We got her 1st little doll while we were in Utah just a week or so ago as an early Easter gift. Roxy LOVES her dolls now!
EASTER EGG HUNT AT GMA AND GPA ROSE'S HOUSE

We started out with a fun little scavenger hunt for the Easter Baskets Joy had put together. Alivia got side tracked with the play set they had in the back yard.

After going thru 6 or 7 clues they found their Easter baskets in the backyard shed!

Roxy and Alivia Collecting eggs in the front yard. They both weren't sure what to do with the boiled eggs. We collected all the boiled ones and Joy made delicious deviled eggs out of them. Jake and I were also spoiled with an Easter basket :)

Daddy's little princess!

We did an evening Easter egg hunt at my Grandpa's house. My cousin Natalie helped Roxy find the eggs.

Roxy enjoying her Easter eggs. Some were filled with cotton candy, marshmallow bunnies and money as well. Natalie made sure Roxy didn't eat the money too!

Cute Alivia. She found the yellow skirt in Roxy's luggage at my parents house. lol She is into the big frilly tutus!

Missing you dearly......

I am really going to miss my Grandma. This picture was taken in my photography class my Jr. year of High school. It is actually one of my favorite pictures I have of my Grandma. I had it taped to a pink letter box that she had given me to keep Jake's letters from his mission in. It was just one of the many thoughtful things that she did for me.
I have never experienced a loss like this before. My Grandpa Nicholas died when I was just a newborn so I had no recollection of him although I would have loved to meet him. Probably the closest loss I have had was when my best friend's dad passed a way just this past November. It is sort of interesting tho because the feeling of loss comes and goes through out the day. One second I am smiling and remembering a good memory I had with my Grandma and the next minute I am in sobbing tears thinking about how much I am going to miss her smiling face. She was and always will be a huge Rock in my life. This situation has really brought me closer to my Father in Heaven. I know that he understands how I am feeling. I know that he has a perfect plan for us to be happy and to one day see the one's we love so dearly again. I am so grateful for that perspective I am able to have while dealing with this huge loss in my life. I know that my Grandma is watching over all of us and rejoicing in heaven. I know that she is happy where she is and wants more than anything for us to be happy to.

I got my Grandma this cuddly bear to keep on her bed for Christmas one year.

This picture was taken of one of my Birthday's in 05' at our Restaurant we loved going to called Mikado

This is another one of my favorites. My grandma was always driving us kids all over town. I truly am grateful for the time I was able to spend with her on a daily basis throughout all of my life.

New P.J.s for Christmas. I love this picture with my grams and my mom as well.

This is my most treasured possession I was given by my Grandma. She got this locket for me when I was around 15 or 16 years old. I remember her telling me she looked all over the place for a picture locket and finally was able to find the perfect one. On the back of the locket it says
Luchelle,
Brings sunshine into Grandma's heart.
She put my Newborn picture on one side and on the other is a picture of us when we went on a cruise and we shared a cabin together. I will cherish it forever.

My graduation in 07'. As you can see my Grandma always had the biggest smile on her face. Not a single day went by where I didn't feel uplifted by her warm smile and loving embrace. I love you Grandma.

A LIFE WELL LIVED....I LOVE YOU GRANDMA

My sweet Grandma....Mary Luella Stock passed away this morning. How grateful I am to know that I will be able to see her again someday. It is also a huge comfort to know that she is in a better place and no longer has to struggle with her health. Wow, there are just so many memories running through my head right now of all  the countless fun times that were spent with her. She was the most Christ-like lady I have ever known. I can't think of a time that she ever thought of herself over another person. She was constantly serving other people. I grew especially close to my grandma when I hit my teen years. Before I could drive she would meet my friends and I at lunch almost everyday in Jr. High and take us to Wendy's or where ever we wanted to go. We  would also go and get tofu together on weekends at hoho Gourmet. We actually ate there the day 9/11 happened. I remember watching the news while eating our tofu together and talking with her about the horrible tragedy. For several of my Birthdays we would always go to Mikado and sit in our own private booth.  I remember when I first started my awesome period and I called my grams up to let her know and she picked me up and took me to the mall to celebrate my big step into womanhood. I had so much fun spending time with my grandma. We would stay up late and play her classic  games...old maid or chutes and Ladders and we would just laugh all night long.
All of my friends along with my brothers would call her Grandma too cuz no matter who you were, you felt like she was indeed your Grandma.
She would never let a day go by without telling you how much she loved you.

When Jake left on his mission for 2 years, she helped me make her yummy cinnamon rolls to send to the M.T.C.
What a huge support she has been throughout all of my life. Not long after Jake had left on his mission that her health started to get bad. It was always so hard to think about her possibly passing away. I remember feeling like I wouldn't be able to handle the news if she did. I think because of the precious time I have been able to spend with her these past few years that I have been able to grasp a sense of comfort and peace knowing that when she did pass on I would be o.k. and I can say now....I feel at peace and know that she is still with me just in a different way. If it wasn't for the gospel in my life I don't know what I would do or think about this situation. It is SO comforting to know that I can see her again someday and that she is in a much better place.

I remember countless nights growing up as a kid and having sleep overs at her house with my brothers and our cousins. She would make up the craziest bed time stories and we would just laugh until we cried. She also would set up her big family tent in the back yard and we would all camp out in it. I remember going to bed with warmed milk from the stove at night whenever we stayed over. We would also wake up to her  scrambled to perfection eggs and buttered toast. Oh she was the best Grandma in the WORLD. I hope to live a life patterned by hers.

This a song I will hold close to my heart forever because of you. You would always sing this song to us. You truly were the SUNSHINE in our lives!

This picture of Roxy and my Grams was taken on Sunday-Easter Conference

I am so happy Jake, Roxy and I were able to see my Grandma last week while we were in town.  She wore a big smile on her face like she always has her entire life. You will be missed greatly.

Because of the wonderful Mom and Grandma that she was....I was given the nicest-sweetest dad ever

I will forever cherish the time I was able to spend with this incredible lady I call my Grandma.

Families are Forever

I am so glad Jake was able to get to know my sweet Grandma. I feel so blessed to have such a supportive loving husband

Thank you Grandma for everything you were and are to me. I will keep you in my heart forever and will miss you dearly.
I love you
