Utah...here we come!

Well our little family will be heading back down to Utah tomorrow....Jake decided on a whim to get tickets to the Utah Jazz game this Friday to see his secret crush....Labron James from Miami Heat play. He has always wanted to see the legendary "king" play and  I have been wanting to go to a Jazz game so I am pretty excited! My dad is gonna be joining us as well along with Jake's dad and a couple of siblings.Going to Jazz games with my dad has always been a good bonding memory of mine. Of course we would always get a big ol' bowl of ice cream at half time and at the end of the game when I was little enough my dad would carry me on his shoulders all the way back to the car! It was a sad day when I finally was too big to do it!!...good times.
Well I hope Roxy can maintain her good -sleeping through the night all by herself habit- while we are in Utah...It is hard to keep a set schedule whenever we are away from home but we will try our best to keep it going!

Roxy has had a bit of a cold the last couple of days...her poor little nose has been running like crazy!

HAPPY 25TH BIRTHDAY MY LOVE!!!!

HAPPY 25th BIRTHDAY TO THE WONDERFUL HUSBAND OF MINE AND FATHER OF OUR LITTLE 9 MONTH OLD ANGEL!!!
Unfortunately, Jake had to work graveyard last night...so he will only be getting just under 2 hours of sleep till we head to church at 9!! Then he has to head back to work at 6 tonight!! He also shoveled the walks at the church after he got off work at 6am...bless his heart!!! I sure do love and appreciate all he does for our little family and the sweet hearted man that he is...He is one stud of a muffin I must say!! :) hee I really feel so blessed to have such a great guy in my life who treats me and my little girl like royalty...I will always think of him as my MIRACLE....If it weren't for his great faith and courage to change his life around just over 5 years ago it wouldn't be possible for us to have the wonderful life we share together!! He has become a huge Rock in my life and I feel so blessed to be his wifer liper as one of the many names he calls me :) hee. Roxanne is one lucky girl to have such a involved daddy that would go leaps and bounds to ensure the happiness of his family and those that he loves. I couldn't be a happier young women....and it's all because of the wonderful man I married and was sealed to for all Eternity just shy of 2 years ago!!

For dinner I am surprising Jake with a big ol' steak and mashed potatoes....his favorite meal :) I also invited grandma and Grandpa along with Uncle Randy and Wendy for Mandarin Orange cake just before he heads off to work....My gma Stock used to always make this cake for my birthdays...it is a classic!! I'll have to post the recipe sometime!! it's super easy yet super delicious!!!
p.s. Roxanne slept in her crib soundly last night!!!!! She just woke up around 1 but fell right back to sleep after I did the soothing voice technique I learned from my magical book!!....I am so proud of her!!!

CELEBRATING HUBBY/DADDY'S BIRTHDAY......

Roxy's 1st time playing with a balloon. Alba was quite interested in it too!
I love capturing moments like this. Dad and Roxy slept while mom prepared a surprise dinner for Daddy! (A juicy steak with caramelized onions and mushrooms and a side dish of mashed potatoes)

Funny birthday card from Uncle Randy and Aunt Wendy

MAKE A WISH!........ 1/4 of a century!!! I didn't get to take a picture of Jake blowing out his candles cuz I was holding the cake! So me being obsessed with capturing every moment in time...I re-lit the candles and took a pic!! I know I'm a little bit crazy :)

We attempted to have Roxy hold the number 2 candle but since she is in the "eat everything I see including candles phase" We just had dad model them for us

Gma Patsy

Family Enjoy'in some Mandarin Orange cake

Roxy got to have some too!! She seemed to like the ice cream the most even tho it was cold on her teeth!

doing what's best....even when it is hard

Well Jake and I have decided to try and get Roxy to sleep in her crib. We seem to have a good bed time routine down other than when she does fall asleep in her crib and wakes up, she expects mom and dad to come to her rescue every few hours. Last night was the toughest yet most rewarding night so far.... I have been reading a very helpful book...called the sleepeasy solution by Jennifer Waldburger. It is a very good happy medium to the Cry-it-out solution and comfort your child because you feel like your heart is being ripped out of your chest if you don't solution. It seems to have worked rather well for her 1st night although it was tough to not just intervene at any given hour and just start again tomorrow night. To make the incredibly long night short....This morning I woke up frantically to see if Roxy was awake at 7:30am and low and behold she was sound asleep! She woke up around 8. Oh i was so happy to barge into her room and give her the biggest hug and kisses and let her know how proud I was of her! If we keep this routine up...the book says it should only take about 5 days till she can soothe herself back to sleep and have a more restful nights sleep ( mom and dad included :)) Well I have got to get ready for work but I have a sneak peak of some super cute pics I took this morning....

Growing up so fast!....

Roxanne discovering snow...

Roxanne debating whether to stick it in her mouth along with everything else she sees...
and of course Roxy thoroughly enjoying her piece of snow...yum!

This is one of my favorites!! We just can't get enough of this cute little girl of ours!!

We finally decided it was time to invest in a chair for Roxy to properly eat her food in! It seemed to be a big hit while she ate her oatmeal this morning! She just loved tapping away on her food tray, it was super cute.

One of Roxanne's most favorite foods to munch on...an apple! She loves being able to hold an entire apple and suck on the juice, of course this requires adult super vision so she doesn't take a huge chunk out of it boy does she love her apples tho!

E.R. Visit

Well I took my first visit to the E.R. at 9 Last night. We would have much rather gone to an insta-care place but everywhere else was closed unfortunately. So it was a total freak accident, I was getting frozen baby food out of a plastic ice tray and the tray busted right in half. Plastic particles went everywhere including my left eye. Jake was coming home from work in just a matter of minutes so I tried not to panic. I called the 2nd super hero doctor in my life...my dad and he said to try flushing it out and have Jake take a look at it with a q-tip. Jake couldn't find anything. Well 3 hours later and a quick visit to see grandmpa cuz he finally came home from the hospital last night and is doing really well since his surgery; we were on our way to the hospital.Jake said a comforting prayer and I felt that it was important that I get professional help cuz it wouldn't be worth jeopardizing my vision. Plus it doesn't help that I am a huge worry wart! (I got it from my grandma stock)It is a huge blessing that we have insurance. When we got to the hospital they put this special dye in my eye and the doctor couldn't see anything then he put some other solution in my eye that turned my tears green and used a black light and he find a scratch on my Cornea which was making feel like a had something in my eye. He sent me home with an antibiotic gel and some Lortab which I have been hesitant to take since last time I took it was when I had knee surgery and I would have bad dreams that I would try and wake up from but my eyes were too heavy to open so I felt stuck in this horrible dream. I am happy to have my sanity back tho. The doctor says that it will take about a week to heal so it still feels like I have something stuck in my eye. It always makes me so grateful for the little things I have whenever I get injured or know someone that is injured. I remember how good it felt when I could ride an exercise bike and then be able to run again let alone just stand up and walk without crutches. Now I have come to appreciate my vision. I just kept telling myself if I were to go blind I would at least have my right eye I could see out of. I am so grateful for the gospel as well that puts an eternal perspective on all the icky things we have to go through in this life. No matter what happens we will all be made whole again and with the savior we can find comfort in all afflictions.

Happy Valentines Day my Love!!

"True love is not so much a matter of romance as it is a matter of anxious concern for the well being of ones companion." Gordon B. Hinckley
Happy Valentines day to the love of my life!!!....I couldn't ask for a more patient, compassionate, loving, intelligent, hard working, charming, flat out handsome young man to spend my life with....unfortunately our little family is sick with the cold this Valentines day so we will most likely stay home and snuggle up to a chick flick by the fire place...sounds good to me!! I got Jake salsa & chips, red peppers, jalapenos to symbolize his hotness...hee I thought it was a pretty brilliant idea lol especially since Salsa is his favorite!....he got me some awesome vibrant colored running socks and lifting gloves to show his support for  my training. I thought it was very thoughtful and practical! I LOVE you sweetie....you are my world and my better half!!

We celebrated Roxy's 1st Valentines day by going to La Jalicience and doing some grocery shopping :) We rented the movie Moneyball, not much of a chick flick but Brad Pitt is in it so that should make up for it!

Daddy taught Roxy how to clap her hands yesterday!! She has been doing it whenever we clap our hands, it's too cute!

Our sick little family....Our Fam. caught the COLD this V-day, stuffy noses-sneezing and All!! so Fun!!

This is Roxy's latest way for throwing tantrums...she loves to just arch that back of hers and fling her little arms out.

Precious moment with our little family that I love :)

Elder Rose arrives home!!!!

The Rose clan at President McRenold's work conference room for Elder Ricky's setting apart. We were just at the airport waiting to see Mama Rose get the 1st hug from her 3rd missionary/son. It was such a special moment to see Ricky for the 1st time after 2 years. It is amazing how much has occurred since Ricky has been gone...both of his older brothers are married and Jake and I made him an uncle 9 months ago! It was so exciting for us to have Roxy finally meet his UNCLE PICKLES!
My lovely Mim with Uncle Timmins...who isn't a fan of picture taking :)
Uncle B and Auntie M!
Grandma and Grandpa Garcia! They were able to be at the airport for the special arrival. Unfortunately they had to head back home early and weren't able to be at Ricky's homecoming talk. It was so good to see them!! They brought their famous...tamales!!...oh boy were they delicious!!

Roxanne's proud parents :) with Uncle Diglet

The Rose Siblings!! It has been 4 years since they all have been together!
Uncle Pickles is super cute with kids...I can tell already Roxy is gonna love him!

Roxy's Craziest Gma and Uncle!!
Roxy is all smiles!

Gpa Stock
I just love my baby girl!!!

The other wild and crazy uncles and of course silly dad just doing what they love to do....

Uncle Pickles.....WELCOME HOME!!!

This pictures was actually taken last time we came to Utah, I thought it was super cute! Gma Joy took it.

Grandpa Rose comes to visit....

The cutest little girl on EARTH!!!!

Grandpa Rose came up to visit this past weekend....he came to see his little grand daughter and visit his dad in the Hospital which btw his surgery went well today!! Grandpa Mutt sounds like he is doing well.
Roxanne has learned how to wave this weekend as well! It is the cutest thing ever!! She will just wave at everyone she sees now.

Grandpa also taught Roxy how to say...Grandpa!! I have heard her say it a couple of times but only Mama and Alba have really stuck so far. She is learning something new everyday tho!! It has been so fun!
