Jr. Miss- MOMMA!

I was asked to be one of my Y.W. girl's back stage mom for Jr. Miss this weekend. It was a great experience! It is unreal how much work goes into beauty pageants. My favorite part was the talent show. There were some incredible talents. There were quite a few really good dancers and piano players.

Sasha did a really cool talent called Poi ball from New Zealand. I guess she learned it when she was just a little girl and picked the skill back up for the pageant. The little white balls light up in the dark and are spun around do the music in different motions. It was really cool.

I loved Sasha's yellow dress!

The morning of the Pageant I got Miss Sasha all dolled up for her interview.

Just getting ready for the starting act. All the girls chose a random outfit to wear and came up with a catchy phrase to start of the beauty pageant with. Sasha was a foot ball player and her line was "let's get this game started"

Beautiful Sasha! I had a great time helping her out.Who knows maybe Roxy will be a Beauty Queen one day! :)

EXCITING NEWS!!!....

Jake and I found out that we were expecting our 2nd little Angel on Friday morning! I sort of felt like I could possibly be pregnant again a couple of weeks ago but I decided to wait until I actually skipped a period to take a test and sure enough I am! I am starting to get the lovely nautious feeling back but It's totally worth it in the end! Jake and I had planned on having another baby close to Roxy and then hopefully having a bigger gap while he gets through law school but we will see. We both prayed and felt really good about having another baby so we know that the lord will make everything work out for us if we do our part. We have a feeling we are going to have another girl but either way we are super excited for Roxy to have a sibling! She will make such a sweet loving big sis!

Dad made this cute little banner to put on Roxy's dress so we could spread the good news with it. I just love those big blue eyes of hers!

this is just my awesome photo skills put to the test lol. Jake went down to Rexburg Friday morning to give his Grandpa a blessing who is back in the hospital unfortunately so on his way home he picked up a pregnancy test. I specifically requested the more expensive digital one and it was totally worth it!! :)

I just have the best husband on earth!! Later that morning when I got home from the gym, Jake had cleaned the house and put these beautiful flowers on the mantel in the living room where he usually surprises me with them and I was surprised yet again! He got 3 awesome peacock feathers to represent Roxy, me and the little one on the way!

We still need to set up for a doctor's visit but according to my pregnancy app my due date will be on December 31st! Best Christmas gift ever!

LOVE TO RUN....

2012 Salt Lake City Half Marathon

Well unfortunately I don't have any pictures to post of the Race. My friend Erin that ran with me will be sending me some soon but I absolutely loved it!! I had such a good time, I just love all the hype the day before and especially the morning of the race. As soon as I got into Bountiful, Brittney and Jaxon came with me to pick up my packet at the Gateway, which included my race number and T-shirt.  I met Erin, my running buddy, out there as well. The pre-race butterflies started to stir around in my tummy while I was at the convention. We had a quick dinner at MoBetta steaks which I LOVE and as soon as I got Roxy down I was off to bed myself.  I woke up at 3am and couldn't fall back asleep and soon enough it was time to get up and get ready at 5:20am. I ate some oats and got on my brand new under armor Fuchsia tank top and legit running Capri's my sweet hubby got for me just before I headed down to Utah with Roxy and Gma Patty. It was sort of the bad timing to run since Jake had to stay home and work and my parents were out of town in Boston for my dad's Marathon. Brit was there to support me, her and Aliva even came to the Finish, sadly I didn't have my phone with me so I didn't even get to see them but I am glad they came anyways. Joy was even in Hawaii and wouldn't be arriving home till later in the day. Luckily I had Grandpa Rose to watch Roxy. I dropped her off around 6am and Erin's husband drove us to the starting line. Erin commented on remembering to wear deodorant and of course I totally forgot too! lol not to mention my unshaven underarms! Being stinky and hairy was the least of my worries tho, I just wanted to get on with the Race!...It was crazy cuz 90% of the race was all down hill, there were just 2 up hills is all and hardly any flat areas. I sort of liked the downhill tho even tho I am paying for it now!! I am so sore! my quads and lower back kill. I felt pretty good during the race, I knew that I had to keep running the whole time or else I would cramp up. My poor friend had a tight IT band so she was in pain most of the way, she is quite the champ for finishing the race tho and she never stopped running either. I have enjoyed training with her, it has been fun. I can definitely say that I am OBSESSED with running races now! The thrill and all the training you put into them are unlike anything else, it certainly pays off in the end. I look forward to many many more races to come. My dad has been the biggest inspiration to me when it comes to running. He said the Boston Marathon was a struggle because of the record heat which was 80-86 degrees but he finished and that is all that matters. My dad is amazing, I hope to one day be able to run a full marathon. I feel like I could maybe do it relatively soon but I may do a couple more halves before I take the big leap.
The Sibs at the Gateway after eating at CPK for Aliva's Birthday

Well after the race Roxy and I took a nice long Knapp then we went over to Jake's parents house and Joy had come home from Hawaii. She got the cutest hula skirt for Roxy that came with a necklace and shells, Roxy also got a super cute orange Hawaiian dress. Jake and I were spoiled with gifts too. I really wish I had my camera with me, I took some cute pictures of Roxy in her hula skirt on my phone. I will have to take some with our camera sometime. Later that evening Dani, my brothers, Brittney and Alivia went out to eat at California Pizza Kitchen for Alivia's 2nd Birthday. Sadly I won't be able to make it to Alivia's birthday party next Saturday.
The Birthday Girl!!

My sweet little Angel
Aunt Dani came with us. It is crazy that Dani is Roxy's only blood Aunt...She has a handful of uncles tho!

Alivia was kind enough to share her princess dolls with Roxy. They are going to be such good buddies I am sure.

We got Alivia her favorite little Polly Pocket princess dolls, they kept  her entertained the whole time we were waiting for our food to come. It was fun going out with the siblings. It's kind of weird we didn't have our parents there with us.
We each had a bite of Alivia's cupcake with bright blue frosting!

After dinner we went and watched Alivia and Chris play in the Fountain
On Sunday we headed back home which made for a super short trip! Roxy wasn't feeling too well either so she wasn't too happy to be in her car seat this time. Gma Patty ended up driving the last hour or so of the drive and I sat in back with Roxy. It was so good to be back home with Jake. Oh and Roxy learned how to say....UH-OH from Gma Patty. She also learned how to say WOW which was one of Alivia's first words, and lastly she learned to say Papa. She is just picking up words like crazy, I am sure when she hits 18 months she will have a good handful of words. I just love our little girl. I feel so blessed to have her apart of mine and Jake's life.

Count down....

Well it is crunch time now!! 6 days till Race day!! It is sort of funny cuz the thing I am most worried  about are what needs to be done before the race. I still need to pick up my race packet by Friday and I probably won't be in Bountiful till 6 or 6:30 and the deadline is at 7pm. I hope I can make it in time. If not I am sure my buddy Erin could pick it up for me. It is normal for me to stress out about the little things. With my luck, I am sure I will have bad dreams the next few nights about not making it on time to the starting line. lol. I am sure everything will turn out just fine. Is sort of a bummer that Jake has to stay home and work but someone has got to pay the bills! We have been up and down to Utah more than expected this month so hopefully after this race we can stay put for a little while. Summer isn't too far off so soon enough we will have people coming up to swim! My dad runs his 2nd Boston Marathon on tomorrow morning. I was told it is going to be record heat in Boston!...I sure hope my dad does ok. I know that I am horrible at running in the heat. I get light headed so easily. I hope to one day run a marathon maybe the qualify for the Boston race :). I wouldn't mind running a race with my dad. I am sure he would smoke me tho! It would still be fun to be apart of a race with him tho. Oh how I love running, it really kicks your butt but it pays off in the end, physically and mentally.
This is just a cute picture I found on our camera today of our cute little Munchkin. Jake must of taken it while I was a work.

I found this tent the other day at Family Dollar. It came with a little crawl tunnel too. Roxy seems to love it! It will be fun to have outside during the summer

Oh silly dad!

At one point we had the whole family in the tent. Roxy got so excited, it was cute. Of course only half of Jake's body could fit inside of it.

haha I love this goof ball of a man that I married! He is such a good daddy!

Roxy's little pig tails! I never knew how difficult it actually was to wrap tiny ponytails in short baby fine hair not to mention doing it on a little wiggle worm! I am sure over the years I will have it mastered. I do find it is easier to do and stays in better when the hair is damp first.

This is Roxy's 2nd baby food mess!!! (Not bad for being 11 months old actually) I think it was the same flavor of baby food too! Maybe it's a sign! She seems to be having a blast with it covering her face!! We had an open container on the edge of the couch and she knocked it over and spilled all over her face.

It was dad's turn for clean up!

Well I started to work on the incredibly frustrating home videos again...converting them to dvds has been such a pain in the butt. I hope that one day I can figure an easier way to do it. I wonder if they have T.V.s with a built in memory card outlet so you can just stick the card in the T.V. and it will play your videos instantly! hmmm...I will have to look into it. I do think it is worth the time and effort tho. I love watching our home videos and I am sure we will enjoy even more as time goes by. Some of the best memories I have with my family are the ones gathered around watching family videos and all the fun trips we went on together....oh those were some good times. I look forward to many fun trips and events with my little family Jake and I have begun!

My Loves....

Awe...I just love these two to pieces. They both are the center of my whole world. I feel extremely blessed to have such a wonderful loving husband who is my best friend. Our daughter Roxanne is just the icing on the cake, she is such a bundle of Joy. Jake and I couldn't imagine our lives without her now that she is ours. We just love being her proud crazy parents.

I love watching Roxy give her daddy kisses! I can't believe Roxanne is going to be 1 next month!! It really is crazy how fast time flies!

Well this was mom's attempt at giving Alba a haircut the other day with my old trimmers. It is quite patchy but after an hour or so of shaving her i couldn't do any more! lol I think she looks like a lion now!...Her new nickname is Nala :) Jake and I have been wanting to get lamb sheers to do it, maybe next time eh!

This is what Roxy does every time I go outside for a second. She crawls as fast as she can to the door and taps her hands on the glass. Oh how cute our little EEFERT is! btw....Eefert is a nickname Jake gave Roxy and I think it has stuck. Now Jake's siblings like to call her Eefert lol. Oh silly daddy....Roxy is going to think her parents are weirdos haha

Roxy's 1st wagon Ride

After my Grandma's funeral Roxy and I took a 2 hour nap. We both needed it!

Roxanne's 1st wagon ride with her 2nd cousin, Preston. My mom and I were on our way to Grandma Joy's house which is  conveniently 1/2 a block away :)

I definitely want to get Roxy a red wagon, she love it!

I had our strong dog help pull the wagon with me lol if I were to let go the kids would go flying down the road!

We stopped at the W.B. elementary school and Roxy went down her 1st slide!

She wanted to go again and again and again....

A week from tomorrow I head back down to Utah for the 3rd time this month, and run my 2nd half marathon! I am feeling pretty good about it, I slacked a bit during the training but after my 10 mile long run with my hubby, I am feeling like I should do alright.
Also some super exciting news!.. I have also been starting to plan Roxy's 1st birthday party on May 19th.  I must admit, it had been on the back of my mind ever since Roxy was just a few months old! we got her birthday out fit picked out which I am super excited for her to wear! I think Jake things I am a little bit obsessed with this whole 1st birthday party spill but I just can't help it! It will be fun to be surrounded by friends and family for her 1st year celebration of life!

A bitter sweet day....

This was a nursery rhyme my grandma would always recite to me as a kid so I chose it when we were getting flowers.

The morning of my Grandma's funeral, we had a short viewing in the chapel that my Grandparents went to for many years. The Room was full of many loved ones. After the viewing my dad said a family prayer. The tears started to stream down my face during the prayer and didn't seem to stop streaming for most of the day. Just before it came time to close my Grandma's casket, the grand kids put some notes/drawings in. My Aunts put some things in as well that they wanted my grandma to have with her. Jake and I put the card that came with her flowers in the casket along with a Flower my mother in Law let me have. They carried the casket into the chapel where we would have our little program my dad and his brother and sisters had helped put together. Every member of my family participated in the program. Jake was even included, he said the opening prayer. I gave a short tribute of my grandma. I talked about some of the memories we shared with her as kids and how she always had a smile on her face everywhere she went. She also had a rock solid testimony that radiated by the way she lived. She loved attending the temple. The grand kids sang one of her favorite songs " You are my Sunshine" which was very hard to sing while crying. My cousins Natalie and Joel also played the piano. I am sure my sweet Grandma was smiling down on us.

We headed to the Cemetery shortly after the program

My Grandma requested a Hickory Casket with baby blue lining inside of it and that is just what she got.

My brother Nick gave the dedicatory prayer

My little ray of sunshine

Aunt "Dude"

This is a picture of my Grandpa's siblings
After the prayer was said we headed back over to the church and the Relief Society fed us funeral potatoes and ham, let's not forget the jello for dessert :)

Just before Jake and I headed back up to Idaho the next day we went to see my Grandma's grave. I am really happy they decided to go with a bench. I thought it looked beautiful.
