Roxanne's 1st Christmas!

Roxy's Christmas Sweater (3rd Christmas eve outfit :))
Roxy playing with her buddy Jed Salmon

The Salmon Family came up to Idaho to spend Christmas with Grandma Patty & Grandpa M.J.

Our Family was able to join the Salmon's for their Christmas Eve party. We played the classic white elephant game.
The Cute little Salmon kids acted out the Nativity while Jake Narrated the story from the scriptures. It was super cute. We look forward on doing it with our kids someday!

Roxy opening up her present from the Salmons.. it was a sparkly glitter bouncy ball
Grandma and Grandpa M.J. got all the kids P.J.'s including Roxanne!

This was our present we got from Alba Christmas morning!.... She totally had a hay day with my phone :)
This is what resulted from Alba dog chewing up my phone...Jake had to put soap in his mouth for 30 seconds due to his curse words. We made a deal that next time he swore we would put soap in his mouth. It was a perfect day for it since we watched the classic movie I grew up watching on Christmas....The Christmas Story where Ralphy gets to eat soap for cursing too! :) So kids you better not have a potty mouth or you will have to suffer the consequences like daddy did!!

Christmas day!!! We went to 9am Church with the Salmon family and then Roxy and I hung out till daddy got home at 6pm.

Roxy's Christmas party outfit!
We got Roxy a toy light up ball for Christmas. We got it a week before Christmas and we re wrapped it so she could open it again on Christmas day :)

The Rose Fam came up just as Jake was getting home and then we all ate dinner and opened presents and Gma and Gpa's house. It was a lot of fun!

Grandma Joy got Roxy the cutest little hunter hat.

Roxy got a little kitchen from Gma & Gpa Rose! She loves playing with it. It is funny cuz her favorite toy is the plastic egg yoke.

We got Dani a Camo sweater since she requested something with Camo

Just having fun with her new kitchen!

My wonderful in laws with the help of my wonderful hubby got me an Ipad 2 for Christmas! Yes, I am extremely spoiled almost to the point of being...Rotten! :)

Jake got Dani some Cuffs which were upon request as well :)

Grandpa Rose just adores his little Grandchild, it is so sweet

Our Holiday Plans!

Well the pie was a hit!! For my Uncle Randy NE ways, he had at least 3 or 4 big slices of it. I think it tasted pretty good actually. I still have some filling left so I think I will make another pie with it tonight. So our Christmas plans have changed a hundred times but really it doesn't matter as long as our little family will be together celebrating Roxanne's 1st Christmas. Jake's family is actually going to come up here for Christmas and stay a couple of days so we will stay here with them then they are going to go to Boise and visit grandma and grandpa Garcia. Jake, Roxy and I will meet my family in St. George then we will bum a ride to Vegas and stay till New Years day  then we will spend the rest of the time in Utah till Jake goes back to work. We are excited for the Holidays. Yesterday we watched the Christmas Devotional. It was really good. Most of the talks were about not forgetting the true meaning of Christmas which is loving and serving people and not get so caught up in the 'THINGS' of Christmas. We must keep CHRIST in Christmas. Jake and I are looking forward to starting our own family Christmas traditions. We will be sure to read the Christmas story of Christs birth from the scriptures before our kids open presents. Hopefully my cooking skills will be even better by then!

Tis the Holiday Season! :)

We are going over to Uncle Randy & Aunt Wendy's house for dinner tonight. I decided to make sweet potato Pie!! I hope it tastes ok! I even made the pie crust from scratch. I ran out of butter from the popcorn balls so I looked up a butter less pie crust recipe, I really hope it doesn't taste too bad. As for the sweet potatoes I had them boiled a few days ago and so I decided I needed to use them up before they go bad. The recipe just called for a 1/2 c. oil, 2 eggs, cinnamon spice, nut meg spice and a cap full of vanilla oh and we can't forget the 1 c of sugar!! I thought the filling tasted really good so we will see!! The whole time I was making the pie I thought of my Grandma Stock, She always made the BEST pies and the BEST everything! I always loved her gooey cinnamon Rolls. I remember if I was lucky to get the Cinnamon Roll pan first I would always take the one right in the middle cuz it was the most moist! mmm...I loved it! I have really enjoyed being a cooking/baking mom...Jake certainly has too! :)
My 1st pie: Sweet Potato pie
Roxy's Christmas dress My mom and I got at the Mall in Twin Falls just after we got her ears pierced! Her cousin Alivia has a matching dress too!

Yummy Treat!!!

I decided to make the Y.W. leaders along with those I visit teach...yummy Carmel Popcorn! It was my mother in laws recipe...of course! I love it and it is super easy to make! Here is the Recipe...

- 1 Bag of popped popcorn
-1/2 C. Brown Sugar
-1/2 C. Butter
-1 Bag Mini Marshmallows

Melt the Brown sugar, Butter and Mini Marshmallows on the stove top till it comes to a boil. I am sure you can melt them in the microwave too. I laid some parchment paper on the counter and placed the popcorn onto it then drizzled the Carmel sauce onto the  popcorn and let it cool!
Here are my 1st Carmel popcorn balls!

Catch Up....

Wow I have been horrible at blogging lately!! Maybe when the Holidays are over with I'll be able to get back in a blogging routine! or maybe life is just gonna get too crazy from here on out to keep one updated as often as I would like to.
I was able to burn ALL of our home videos onto a DVD successfully after hours of frustration, it was ALL worth it! It will be fun to watch them when we go down to Utah with our families. I know that Jake's family wasn't as into home videos growing up as much as my Family was. We spent lots of nights gathered around the TV in my parents room watching home videos, they were always hilarious to watch. I looked like an orphan Annie! (my mom's term :)) I know Jake's family has tonz more pictures than we do tho. Our little family will have tonz of both!! at least of Roxy anyways :)
Also some exciting news...I signed up for my 2nd half marathon!! My friend Erin Marble mentioned that we should run a race together so I said YES! Ever since I trained for my last race I haven't been able to get as motivated to exercise than when I was actually training for something, so I am super glad I have something to motivate me once again! Plus this will keep my mind off of wanting another baby so soon! :) We are running the Salt Lake City Race on April 21st so we have the perfect amount of time to start training. Technically I don't officially start until January 19th. My dad copied his training program for me to follow, I just have to cut it in half since it's made for the Full Marathon. He followed this program the last race he ran and he felt that he did better than he ever has so I am excited to see if I have better results! I finished the last race in 2:03 so I am hoping to finish in under 2 hours.
Well I can't believe Christmas is just 9 days away!! Jake and I will be traveling to Utah Christmas evening. We are excited to spend time with our Families in Utah. We let Roxy play with her 1st Christmas Present. We saw this musical ball at Walmart while we were shopping for the siblings that we drew for this year and she was drawn to it so we decided to get it for her! We hope that everyone that we bought presents for likes what we chose! It really isn't easy guessing what someone might like and hoping they don't already have it. It has been fun shopping for everyone tho. Jake and I kind of got picky this year and decided to choose our own gifts for each other. Jake I believe is going to get a new automatic hunting rifle and I would like an Ipad :) I know we are high rollers at least we like to think that we are! I actually had a lap top I ended up trading one of Jake's buddies for their flat screen T.V. I feel like I spend more time on the computer than I do watching T.V. tho but I really didn't like the mini lap top I had since you could only see half of what was on the screen without having to scroll down. It was super annoying. Since Jake takes online classes, he always has the computer which is totally fine I just figured an Ipad would be nice to have as a substitute for a lap top and a smart phone :). I not sure if I mentioned that Jake and I finally got on our own phone family plan at Verizon. We were both ready to get our smart phones and I decided that I really didn't care to have a smart phone and figured saving a few extra bucks a month would be good for us so I got a simple piddly phone but it does it's job. Jake loves his smart phone tho, I try not to be jealous whenever he brags about how cool it is...hee. but I do love that he can store his scriptures on it and be super high tech at church. Soon enough I very well could be strutting around with my Ipad that has scriptures on it too!
Jake's dad came up last night, he had work to do in Idaho Falls so he went down there this morning and we met up with him for lunch at the Pineapple Grill in Rexburg. We have been there a couple of times with Jake's dad. We love the sushi there! It is always good to have him come and see his Grand daughter...Roxanne. He just gushes over her and things she is the cutest little baby on earth. Roxanne has such great grandparents and boy is she spoiled by them.
Well I am scheduled to work early in the morning at Sage so I am going to try and get some sleep but I do need to post pictures soon!

Doctor's Visit

Well miss Roxanne went to the doctor this morning. As usual, she is a healthy growing/developing baby! We are so grateful she is a healthy and happy baby.  She is right on track with her growing pattern, she is slightly above the average curve as well believe it or not! Jake and I have been worried that we might hold her back developmentally tho since we are always holding her. The doctor said just the opposite today tho!!...he said that she is ahead for her age since she is sitting up on her own already! It was so good to hear. We still need to let her have more tummy time tho :) we just love her to pieces so it's hard to let her have her independence every once in a while. It gets only worse when we take her to UTAH cuz she is ALWAYS being held by her loving grandparents or Aunts and Uncles! Grandma patty said the other day...a spoiled baby is one that is LOVED and she is certainly LOVED by many!! Jake and I absolutely love having her in our family, it really is the greatest part of our lives...so far! Last night I tried having her sleep in the other room and I felt like I was having a harder time than she was at first! lol She usually sleeps in our bed. I know that is a BIG no no and I never thought in a million years I would have my baby in our bed all night but when your a breastfeeding mom and she wants to eat every 3 or 4 hours it just happens! :) We have a king size bed so she has plenty of space to herself so we don't have to worry about squishing her. As long as she sleeps by mommy and not daddy!  When Jake is asleep...he is out like a rock, so I'm sure he could accidentally squish our little girl. Ne ways enough for justifying why we have our little girl in our bed... I heard her crying on the baby monitor at 3:30am and i sprang up so fast thinking the very worst like the paranoid mom that I am and ran into the other room, of course she was fine just ready to eat!
So i figured out how to transfer video to a DVD!! after a long grueling process I was able to transfer the video of Roxanne at the hospital when she was born!! Jake and I watched it a couple of mornings ago. It was so great! Jake hated seeing me in a wheel chair and always feels so bad for me when he remembers the night of my c-section and the days following. I honestly would do it ALL again in a heart beat! Mothers aren't kidding when they say they forget the painful long process it takes for getting their precious little babies here. I didn't experience the whole labor part of it all but i feel like i got my fair share with the recovery process for a C-section. I was up and running after 3 weeks so I really can't complain. My body recovered quickly! I did hear it only gets worse with each child so we will just have to wait and see!!

Christmas Cards have been sent!!

I am not sure if it is always a good thing or not but whenever I have a to do list I feel like EVERYTHING on the list must be done ALL in one day. As soon as I got the Christmas cards in the Mail yesterday morning I went straight to work writing everyone's addresses on the envelopes. About an hour later they were sent! It is funny cuz whenever I do something it is usually high stress for me simply just to avoid STRESSING by procrastinating last minute to do things...so what's the difference? lol No but it has always been a habit of mine to get things done way in advance...I was like this in school as well, I would always have my homework done or big projects done in advanced almost too far in advance sometimes I would forget what I even did and then I would have a hard time presenting the project. All in All it's not such a bad thing to get things done quickly cuz I feel like there is always SOMETHING else that MUST be done!
Well I have felt behind trying to keep up with blogging during the holidays. Things have seemed to be super busy lately especially cuz  Little miss Roxanne seems to need a lot more of mommy's attention lately. It is super cute tho. She will hold both her hands up and gesture me to pick her up. She also has the high pitch wine that she does if you don't pick her up right away....oh boy, are we in for a real treat or what? Grandma Rose mentioned the other day that she thinks she is gonna be a rambunctious little girl like her 5 year old uncle Isaac. She seems to always want to be doing something and tends to get board pretty easily.  I just love watching her grow and seeing every stage she is in. She changes so much so quickly too! It does make me scared that she is going to grow up too fast! That just means it will be time for another baby! :) hee.
It sounds like Bountiful had quite the wind storm the other night. I guess the winds were 100mph and they cause a lot of damage. School has been canceled in Davis county due to power outage and property damage. The Roses had 3 trees fall over. One of them went right into the street so I guess grandpa Rose and Aunt Dani were having to direct traffic. My Dad's shop Awning blew off along with a ladder on his boat. Thank goodness his boat didn't get crushed!! oh that wold be horrible! I am surprised we haven't had any storms. Usually where we live the weather is always worse than it is in Bountiful.
Jake decided to pull a crazy one again and go duck hunting right after he got off from working graveyard. I honestly don't know how he functions but he is going with a bunch of guys and is planning on bringing home a handful of ducks...we will see!
We are expecting a visit from Grandpa Rose today, he has work in Pocatello so is going to stay with us for one night and spend some time with his Dad and of course his cute little granddaughter. Well I am off to the gym but I will try and keep updated.

Some of our Favorites of Roxy!!

2nd Trip to UTAH....2 weeks later!!

Aunt Dani with her 1st Niece! Dani is actually Roxy's only blood aunt! pretty crazy huh!

The day we got into town My parents and Jake's parents went to my favorite Restaurant... Benihana's to celebrate my 23rd birthday. For every birthday they take a Polaroid picture of you with your complementary ice cream and a candle. I have taken at least 6 birthday pictures here! :) I know I feel spoiled! This by far has been my favorite since I got to take the picture with my sweetheart and  my baby girl!

Here they are singing to me just before they take the classic birthday pic!

Jake and I enjoyed being down in Utah as usual. We did the whole black friday thing...well sort off. It was Jake's 1st time going and practically mine as well since last I went I was only 8 or 9 and was just a tag a long with my mom. This year Jake and I went for the experience more than anything. We hadn't looked through hardly any of the adds and just decided to show up at Walmart at 10pm on Thanksgiving. Boy was it mayhem!! Jake was going to buy some ear buds but then we decided it wasn't worth waiting a couple of hours in line for! lol After Walmart we decided to check out Target and there was a big long line outside so it was a no go. We realized that we needed to do our homework 1st and actually look through the adds so we went back to Jake's parents house where we stayed and looked through the adds. Jake decided to wake up at 4am and go to smiths where they were selling skull candy ear buds for only 5 bucks! I decided to sleep in till 7am if that is considered sleeping in:) I went to khols with my mom and got some cute Christmas stockings with our initials on them! Oh and Jake also went to BIG 5 and got me some cute exercise pants! We didn't do a whole lot of shopping this year but We are looking forward to next year when Roxy will be old enough to play with more toys and baby dolls!!
