We have had family come and go since the beginning of July now. The river finally warmed up and slowed down just in time for family and friends to come up and swim for the 24th.
Earlier in July, we went with the Salmon Family to Jackson Hole. It was a rainy day in Saint Anthony and we saw that it would be nicer in Jackson Hole so we made a trip up there. We were wrong tho cuz it was raining there too! Luckily it didn't rain for long tho. We ate at Bubba's, a really good restaurant I have been going to since I was little for BBQ ribs! We spent the rest of the day walking around downtown where all the little gift shops were and took pictures at Jackson Square. Jake and I actually listened to a song by Mason Jennings about Jackson square on our way up. I remember going to Jackson hole when I was little and it always was one of my favorite places to go. We would usually go up with the scouts and go on the famous River rafting trip. Park city reminds me a lot of Jackson Hole too. I just love the out doors feel they both have.

My Parents came up last weekend and stayed in the American Hotel in Rexburg. It was nice because I worked at the spa a couple of the days that they were here and they were able to watch Roxy at the hotel. During my breaks I was able to go and feed her because the hotel was just across the street from the spa. Roxy and I stayed in the hotel with my parents since they had an extra bed and it made it extra convenient for the mornings I went into work. I also did my long run on Saturday- a whopping 7 miles in Rexburg, I really enjoyed my run. I ran up to the temple and into town. It was funny cuz I passed my dad when I was on my way up to the temple and He was on his way back to the hotel. To celebrate the 24th we went to the Saint Anthony Rodeo. That's make 2 Rodeos for little Roxy in here short little life! We have left early both times tho just cuz it's hard to have here their for too long plus Jake's allergies always start acting up. I thought this Rodeo was the most intense tho. There were horses that bucked so hard and jumped so high, I don't know how them cowboys do it but it was crazy to see!
Well Just about 5 more weeks till the Race! I think I want to make a goal to run a 1/2 marathon once a year or at least after I have a baby. It seriously has been the best way to get back into shape a lot quicker. I certainly wasn't cool with having a mama pooch for long, I started running 3 weeks after having Roxy. I was determined to get back to where I was before I got pregnant!
Jake and I have been swimming quite a bit in the past week. I am surprised I don't swim as much since living here. I went off the rope swing a lot the other day and boy do my arms kill. It's funny how they are more sore than I ever am when I lift weights, I guess it just uses other muscles that i don't normally use.
I think the plans are while the Rose family is up here till the end of the week is go to the Sand dunes and possible make a trip out to Bear World and of course the guys like to go golfing every morning. I join them every once in a while. Yesterday I went and I did horrible. I had a couple good hits towards the end tho and that seriously makes all the difference. If I can at least end on a good note or have a couple of good hits, I consider it a good day on the golf course :).
Oh as for Baby News: Roxy discovered her hands the other day!!! It is so stink'in cute to see her marvel in awe at her new little discovery! I love it. She is such a little angel and is growing up so fast! Most people are starting to think she looks more and more like her daddy!
Well I best be going for now, but I can't believe how quickly the summer is coming to an end. Pretty soon it will be snowing again and make for another really long cold winter!..blah!

Yay!! My new Micro Machine is on it's way :)
Ah!! I just purchased a brand new Microdermabrasion Machine!!! I've been wanting one for a long time and Jake gave me the O.k. to get one with my most recent paycheck!! I'm so excited. We used to do microderms on each other all the time in school and ever since i graduated I haven't done too many trades for microderms at the spa. I don't know why I haven't, usually when I do trades it's for a massage or a pedicure. so now I'll be able to do them at home, all the time on myself!! yay!!! Look out glowing awesome skin!! here I come!!! :)
Down the road I'de like to maybe open up a mini spa in our own home were I could do facials, waxing, chemical peels and now microderms! I'de probably do cosmetology services as well, maybe bring in a little extra income :). I could be like my mom, she usually uses the money she gets from substitute teaching for traveling, not a bad idea eh...
Well I've been debating whether to cut my hair short again or not. It's sad cuz I always think paying for a trim is a rip off so I always end up doing some dramatic hair cut and chopping it all off lol. But we will see, luckily I have a husband that likes my hair anyway it comes...he prefers short hair surprisingly but he really doesn't mind how it is. I think he mostly just likes change every once in a while, it adds a little spice to our relationship i guess! hee so we will see what I decide to do. Either no hair cut at all or go short! I guess that goes along with the saying GO BIG OR GO HOME! lol
P.S. I'm excited for my parentals to be coming up this weekend! :) We are gonna go to the rodeo, parade and fireworks...fun, fun, fun!

Bath time before Bed....
Roxy is getting so big!!
Most of the time Dad has been taking Roxy in the shower with him to get cleaned up which she hasn't minded but last night I gave her a bath and she was calm as can be as well. I think she is gonna love the water just like her mom and dad. When I was little my parents used to call me the fish of the family cuz I always loved swimming especially in the ocean. I still do love the water. Next month Jake and I are going to California with my family for my cousin's wedding. I can't wait to go to the beach!! It's been since our honeymoon in Hawaii since I've been to the ocean and i surely do miss it!
After bath time I lathered Roxy up with Johnson and Johnson Lavender bedtime lotion, It smells amazing! supposedly it's supposed to help babies sleep better too, luckily she is a good sleeper ne ways.
Oh by the way last night I went to put my USB card in the computer and without looking i slipped it into the CD changer slot!! so now we have my SD card that has over 1,000 pics on it stuck in our lap top!! so annoying, luckily I have a spare SD card but hopefully next time we are in Utah I can get the apple store to take a look at it and hopefully get it fixed! I didn't even know a USB could fit in the CD slot, apparently it can!...Bummer
Well I've got 4.5 Miles to run today...wish me luck!! then I'm gonna get my hair cut! wahoo!!

A windy but Good day :)
Well Jake and I started off our morning by playing a round of golf at 9am...boy was it windy!! We toted Roxy along with us in the golf cart, I put her in the cutest Jacket and sweat pants so she stayed nice and warm although it was a rough start for her but once we got to the 3rd hole and I was able to get a little milk in her tummy she went right to sleep for a good hour or so. I felt like today was one of my better days golfing. and for Jake...not so much, it's funny how we trade of days. Jake has been teaching me how to swing my clubs better and I tell you what, sometimes it doesn't hurt to apply what you are taught, Jake usually knows what he's talk'in about..hee. I just thought my clubs were broken last time we went golfing, I just did horrible.
Yesterday for date night Jake said I got to choose where we would go to eat and what we were doing this time....and Just the opposite somehow happened, Instead of sushi, we ended up going to the Mexican restaurant, La Jalicience, which I don't mind actually cuz you get more food and it's a lot cheaper, We were both STARVING too. After we ate dinner we ended up driving to Idaho Falls and going to Sports Authority and Big 5 sporting goods to look at golf stuff :). I'm not sure how we ended up doing that for our date but Jake bought him and I golf gloves. I got a super cute white and baby pink glove and we also picked up pink tennis balls (wow I'm such a girly girl) since Ive been really having the urge to play some tennis lately so even though we didn't do exactly what I had invisioned we still enjoyed our time together doing what we love to do most....spend money.
We aren't the most frugal couple that's for sure, but we do put aside some money out of every pay check which we hope to use for a down payment on a house or possible our next child that comes along :). We lucked out with little miss Roxy since we qualified for medicaid because Jake didn't have a job at the time. Now we have insurance for Jake's job which is the most wonderful thing ever. I was able to go to the dentist and get a root canal that our insurance completely covered, now that is a luxury I didn't grow up with since my dad owned his own business so we didn't have good insurance. There were definitely pros and cons to my dad's business tho, we were able to travel whenever we wanted and quite often so it was worth the trade off. Since I didn't go to the dentist on a regular basis my teeth have quite a bit of work to be done on them.
Well after golfing, I went to the gym and ran 3 miles. It felt really good today. I really hope that when it comes time to run 13.1 miles I'll be ready physically and mentally. It's the mental part that I feel that i struggle with the most, but that's what is so good about running is you always tend to push yourself and soon enough you ran further than you thought you would!
Now after i feed sweet baby Roxanne, I have a mountain of laundry to fold and a house to clean for guests that are coming to stay starting tomorrow evening! So i best put on my Cinderella slippers and get to work!

It's been one of those days...
Well I decided to not go to bed until 1am which threw my whole day off. Bad idea... you know that saying "early to bed early to rise makes a man healthy and wise?" well it's true! Between feedings Roxy and I slept until noon!
I have been training for the Mesa Falls 1/2 marathon the last 2 weeks. Ive got 6 more weeks to go until the big day! My sister in law-Brittney convinced me to run with her, we had a hard time deciding whether or not to do it but we finally just decided to sign up for one...no regrets right! well I'm just hoping i don't cross the finish line in an ambulance. My long runs are on Saturdays and so far the longest i have run is 6 miles. It hasn't been too bad actually, especially when your body reaches a numb state were you feel like you can run forever. It's funny when i told Jake that i signed up for a 1/2 marathon he said that he has a feeling once I run my 1st Marathon, I'm gonna be addicted to running races like my dad. If only I could be half as amazing as my dad, he will be running his 30th marathon in August! He turns 50 Tomorrow too! I just don't know if my body is cut out for that much running, I feel like my legs just would stop working after all that running. It's the training that kills ya too! Either way I'm just grateful for a family that has always been into fitness. I remember at a young age waking up alone on vacation in a hotel room while everyone was out exercising at 6am, that's when I finally decided I was gonna join them! and I have been exercising daily ever since. It's such a good habit to have, exercise i feel is huge for relieving stress, plus if Jake and I chose to bum out one day we at least do one productive thing by getting out and going to the gym. I'm glad we are keeping the tradition alive so hopefully our kids will pick up on it too :).
Well we went golfing today. Jake had a good day, which is always good. Me...not so much. It's amazing how frustrating that sport can be but I just gotta keep with it especially since Jake just bought me a new set of clubs!! hee. No I think it's the competitive drive I have in me that never likes to be bad at anything. I also have a hard time having someone critique me. Let alone watch me take swing! Jake and I actually discussed last time we went golfing how it's hard having someone tell you what to do, sometimes it's just better to find your own way to do things, which make sense cause everyone's minds work differently and mine is very very SIMPLE :). Jake does a good job teaching me tho. Really I'm just glad we get to spend time out doors together. It's always good to realize "it's just a game" and not let it ruin the rest of your day. Well I'm not sure if writing will be an everyday thing but I have certainly enjoyed it :) until next time! Date night tomorrow with my hubby and baby girl! yay!! hmm sushi perhaps....

Summer Update
This summer has gone by so quickly! Especially having our new little addition. Surprisingly we were able to adjust rather quickly to our new world of being parents. Luckily we started out with an ANGEL for a baby. She has only had One or Two Fussy nights that I can remember. I can't believe she is 2 months old now and has doubled in weight!(15 lbs!) She picked up a really good sleeping pattern when she was about a month old so instead of waking up to feed here every 2 hours its usually every 4 to 6 hours, it's so nice.
We have loved being parents. We knew that our lives would change and we also knew that we would be the happiest we have ever been in our lives the moment she arrived but we couldn't actually imagine just how wonderful it would be having her till we heard her 1st cry and held her in our arms for the first time. It was amazing. She is such a happy/content baby.
We took Roxy down for her 1st road trip when she was just over a month old for Brock and Maddie's wedding. Everyone couldn't believe how much hair she has. She got so much attention from everyone, I'de say 2nd most from the bride! But it was to be expected if you have the cutest baby on earth! :)
On July 3rd we blessed Roxy, Both sides of the family were able to come up for it, including Kassie & Johnny Salmon and their family. Grandma Patty crocheted here blessing gown and Grandma Joy made her slip to go underneath. I was able to make a flower head band to piece it all together. It was also little Issac's and Grandpa MJ's birthday on the 3rd.
Jake gave a really good short but sweet blessing, he wrote some of the things he said in her baby book. Jake is such a proud dad. I love seeing him with her. They both just light up and Roxy gets the biggest grins on her face. Jake is always wanting to help out in any way. In fact he has become the official "burper" after mom is done feeding her. We are lucky to have such a good loving devoted guy in our lives :).
For the 4th of July we took Roxy to her first Rodeo in Rexburg, It was fun. I'm sure it will be a little more enjoyable for Roxy when she can actually watch it. I ended up going back to the car to feed her since sometimes which is most often, she just won't take a bottle.
Most days this summer have been filled with GOLF...lots and lots of GOLF. We had just found out recently that every Monday night golfing is half price- $5.00. so we have been taking advantage of that plus Jake's sweet grandpa let's us use his punch card and golf cart so we usually just go for FREE. Jake bought me some sweet sparkly purple golf clubs too! So of course he was able to lure me into the world of golf rather quickly. I actually have enjoyed being outside in the fresh air. I think it's a sport we will enjoy doing together as a family although it is a rather expensive sport. We will just have to come up here and play when we move away :). Jake can't wait to teach little miss Roxy how to golf, He is always talking about how much fun they will have together playing golf. Hopefully she likes it or his dreams will be crushed!
Well we have been getting ready for the next Family Gathering coming up this upcoming weekend....It's nice the river warmed up just in time for family and friends to come and celebrate the 24th with us. We have had this tradition in both our families since I was just 3 years old! We always loved coming up to swim, go to the sand dunes, rodeo, Shakes at Big J's and let's not forget the candy-filled parade they have every year!...This year is even more exciting because Jake was in charge of making the Ward Float. He designed and put together a Big Uncle Sam head. Their is also a wavy flag on each side of the float. I am excited to see it when it's all done! I knew Jake would do a good job on it, he has always had a creative/artistic knack for things.
In preparation for getting the house ready, we always try to make sure the house is clean when guest come and stay. Lately the biggest project on our minds has been fixing up the yard due to our Dog, Alba having this horrible habit of digging holes in the lawn. We decided to patch up the holes with sawed, which by the way was a pain to find! I felt like Jake was hunting for a new Job, ne ways we finally were able to get some and patch up the grass. I tell ya there is nothing like a nice looking lawn, now that we know what a embarrassingly bad lawn looks like. Ne ways just to describe how naughty our dog can be sometimes, I went outside to check on her after waking up from a nap yesterday and she had dug up 10 or so patched of sawed! Luckily I was able to repair them rather quickly. Oh i could go on forever about the little terror this dog has been... Basically our lives have been based on the Movie, Marley & Me. We somehow love her to death tho! She has definitely been a comfort to have when Jake works Nights.
Just to wrap things up for the night...
We certainly feel blessed to be were we are at in our lives now. We have grown so close to one another and have already shared so many unforgettable experiences together already in our young married lives...It just keeps getting better and better and we still have got a lifetime to go!

1st Blog Entry: OUR STORY BEGINS.....
Well to begin Our story...Jake & I grew up together in a little town in Utah called West Bountiful.
We lived just half a block away from each other and have been close family friends most of our lives...I know destined to be a fairytale right? At a young age Jake and I had crushes on one another. In fact we recall kissing twice (silly I know!) I thought it was a dream to be honest till several years later when it was brought up. Jake said he had a crush on Princess Jazmin at the time and thought i looked like her :) lol.
During the Middle of my Senior Year... Our lives coincided once again when Jake decided to come back to the church and work towards serving a mission. Jake asked me out on our 1st date around my 18th birthday (He always says how nervous he was to build up enough guts to do so). And of course I said YES!... After our 1st date Jake and I felt like we were meant to be together. We started officially dating on January 16th 2007 and were inseparable from that time forward. We dated exactly a Year (The best year of our lives yet) till the day he left on his mission to Canada, Winnipeg-Jan. 16, 2008. I waited 2 whole years (One of the most challenging/Rewarding years of our lives) for Jake and yes didn't date a single sole :). Everything seemed to come together quickly after Jake returned home-Being that most of our wedding was already planned out :)hee. We SEALED the deal on March 16,2010 for time and all Eternity (The rest is HISTORY!) After a month living at my parents house and both working for my dad's cabinet business, which by the way we have both worked at since Jake was 12 and i was 16. We moved up to an even tinier town in Idaho called Saint Anthony. Jake is currently attending BYU through online classes and working toward his associate’s degree he plans on going to law school-hopefully BYU-PROVO. He is also working as a Jailer for the Fremont County Sheriffs Department. Luckily I was able to land a good Day Spa Job in Rexburg as an Aesthetician/Cosmetologist right when we moved up. Life just keeps getting better and better.... We are proud parents of a Beautiful baby girl we named Roxanne Joy Rose, we call her Roxy or Little Joy. She was born May 16th, 2011. If you haven't caught on yet the number 16 is our Special number :). I am currently a stay at home Mom...well most of the time..I am on call to do cover work at the day spa occasionally. I figured a Blog would be a good thing to have for writing down all my thoughts and adventures I have with this new Journey I am on being a Wife and Mother. Jake and I couldn't be happier with the way our lives have turned out and the bright future we have ahead of us. We are so grateful for the Gospel and to have it as the center of our lives. We know it's what brought us together in the 1st place; It is the key to ETERNAL HAPPINESS. We are doing our best to find JOY in every stage of life and want to share it with YOU...SO ENJOY :)
