Dream Big..

Well Jake is at his first hunters safety class in IF.  He has one more 2 hour class on Saturday then he will be an OFFICIAL hunter!! I definitely could picture him being a hard core hunter. I grew up with a dad that loved to hunt...in fact I remember coming home from school some days and seeing a big old dead deer hanging upside down in our garage or better yet...on my swing set! I always vowed i would never eat the meat just cuz I had seen the actually deer before it became Jerky or Roast...I may change my mind and give it a try but I hear it usually tastes pretty WILD.
So lately I've been working on my little at home spa. I have mixed emotions about it all...I love what I do but dealing with the business part of it can be a little overwhelming at first. I have been putting together business cards and flyers and trying to get it all set up.  I just have to keep in mind that this is a life long endeavor. It's more so a hobby while I'm a stay at home mom and of course a way to make a little extra income.  Every time I give Jake a facial I'll just get so excited about it....and YES he does like getting facials :).  I am so grateful I have such a supportive husband...we have had to fork out a bit of money to get the things I need to make it a quality day spa. My mom is always telling me you have to spend a little money to make money.  Which is kind of ironic coming from Mrs. Ultra Money Saver! but it's true, being that my dad has had his own business, she said that they never took out a loan for it. My dad just started out with just a table saw and a few tools and somehow he made it work. I'm definitely not looking to go as big as my dad but I hope that it does well and I can still do what I love to do which is...pampering others while being a good mommy and wife :).
Next week is the park city half marathon!! boy am I nervous for this one. I have been sick for a couple of days so I wasn't able to run today but I'm sure it will go well maybe not quite as well as the 1st race but I'm sure it will be a lot of fun and a worthwhile accomplishment.  while we are down in Utah, I am going to build a vanity...of course with the help of my sweet loving dad and hubby :). My dad actually made up a plan for it a while go when we first got married and even bought the wood for it. It's good we waited to get it done till now cuz there are some things I'd like to alter to cater it more for a Hair Station where I can do all my haircuts and store all my hair supplies.
All in all.... I just have to say I feel greatly blessed to have ALL that I have. I love that any Dream I have or ever had is possible to achieve and has been achieved. I feel that the biggest dreams in my short lifetime have already been accomplished that is...to be sealed in the temple and to have kids...Nothing can or ever will bring greater joy than My Eternal Family.

Our little Roxanne Joy....

Roxy is officially 4 months and 9 days  now! Grandma Joy bought her these cute skinny jeans, she also got her little black leggings to match her mom...leggings are the way to go!

Our happy little angel

Blue eyes....ain't that somethin!

This is the first stuffed animal that Roxy gets excited about. When you pull on the tail it sings a lullaby. She is so cute with it!

Mom and Roxy

Now that Roxy can hold her neck, Dad couldn't wait to try his stand up trick. I am sure he will have her stand in his hand when her legs get strong enough. He would do that trick with his little brothers all the time.

She seems to love it! :)
Of course we had to end our night with a little family photo...hee

Utah visit

My sweet momma treated us to lunch at C.P.K. We ordered the usual...BBQ chicken salad and Jerk Chicken Pizza it was delicious. Our waiter happened to mess up on our salad order and got us 1/2 a salad instead of a whole so we ended up with a 1/2 a salad extra...it was a lot! We walked around gateway for a bit and Jake got himself a new Taylor Made Driver. I managed to get a good deal on a couple of T shirts at Abercrombie Kids, that's right my mom and I still shop there! lol I just wear a LARGE when I get anything there.

We had a Stock/Rose Steak Dinner, Joy set up her deck with benches and candles on her deck...it was super cute.

Grandma Joy with her FAVORITE Grandchild ( her only so it's o.k. to say ) hee

Jake, Roxy and I went and visited my Sweet Grandma Stock. She was very happy to see Roxy. She is one of the sweetest ladies on earth.  I have shared many good memories with my grams. I love and look up to her so much. If we end up having another girl,Jake and I decided her middle name  will be Luella which is my grandma's middle name...Mary Luella.  She has been a huge rock in my life

Roxy Rolled over today!!!

Ah!!! our little girl is growing up so fast!!! Jake and I just had a feeling she was gonna roll over today and she did!!  Just before we had her lay on her blanket she played in her little walker and she actually looked like she enjoyed playing in it for the first time, it was so cute. She spun her toys and seemed to be entertained by it although she still can't quite touch the ground yet. Any ways back to her rolling over....
While we were in Utah last week she would do a half roll onto her side. Grandma Joy mentioned that she was getting close when she was tending her and I almost worried she would do it with out her mother there to witness it...oh but I got every little shot of her doing it! Jake and I celebrated with her as soon as she did it!....proud parents we are :)

almost there....

and you did it!!!

yay for Roxy!!! ...now what's next?

Remembering 9/11

Well I'm here watching the news and listening to names of those that died during 9/11. My heart breaks thinking about all those who have lost a loved one. I especially feel saddened for the younger kids that lost their Father and Wives with young families who lost their husbands. I can't imagine how sad that would be. It makes me incredibly grateful for the gospel in my life and to know that no matter how short our lives may be here on this earth we will be together as a family for Eternity.
I remember when I first heard about September 11th was when I was carpooling to school. I was in 7th grade. I had Mr. Blankenagle my TLC teacher 1st period then during my Second period History class with Mr. Morgan, we watched it on T.V. Later that day I went to dinner with my sweet Grandma Lou. We went to HOHO gourmet, our favorite place to eat and it was on the T.V. there as well. Jake said that he first heard the news on his way to school as well.
I can't believe it's been 10 years since it all happened. On the bright side of things I never imagined being married to my wonderful husband who I grew up with and to have the most beautiful baby girl on earth. I am truly grateful for all my Blessings....BIG and SMALL. I couldn't be happier with my life and the happiness and joy I receive everyday from my little family and loved ones. My thoughts and prayers go out to all those who have lost a loved one during the attacks. I am proud to be an American :)

What Roxy Jo has been up to...

Roxanne....Growing up!
We got Roxy a little walker a few weeks ago in IF. It felt like we were taking her out to test drive her 1st car. We decided to go to Toys R us 1st and they had 3 walkers to choose from....the 1st one we saw was quite extravagant it was like the "corvette" that was way out of our price range. Jake put Roxy in it and she almost looked overwhelmed there were so many toys attached to it and the chair spun all the way around. The next one we tried was an O.K. bouncer but it was still pretty expensive and of course they had the "clunker" that had one puny toy to play with. Since we had prices to compare to, we decided to check out Target and we found this one! It was the perfect one for the perfect price although Roxy's feet can't quite touch the ground yet but soon enough she will be walk'in all over....wait is that gonna be a good thing? lol. I'm sure the next big purchase will be getting baby gates and pad locks for everything.
Cute little Keya watching Roxy. Alba just loves this little girl. She has been coming over to visit quite a bit lately. She is a sweet girl. Her and her 4 other siblings came from Japan with their parents 3 years ago. They all speak really good English for not knowing it very well when they came here. It's funny the elders at church a couple weeks ago asked if she was my daughter! how old do you think I am! lol I would have been 9 years old!

Little Roxy running errands with mom...she does rather well in her car seat. The other day I picked up a Mirror that you hang up so I can see her when I drive, I really like it, it will especially be nice on a long road trip! Speaking of road trip, we head to Utah tomorrow...wahoo!

Well our sweet baby cakes has the inevitable Cradle Cap that babies tend to get especially if they have lots of hair. I've been trying to keep up on brushing her scalp. I also heard that Tea Tree Oil is good for Cradle Cap so I put some in her baby shampoo. I also have been soaking Olive oil  in her hair just before I wash it. Talk about overboard, I know!! :) but it seems to be working! Jake things I'm kinda crazy, you can tell by the look on Roxy's face she things her mom is crazy too! :)
ah! Our little girl is getting so big! I love that she sleeps with her arms extended above her head and her legs bent like a frogs....so cute she is!! She is almost 4 months in  exactly a week from when this picture was taken!

YAY for my Frozen Berry dessert!!

Just the other day I was craving this sweet frozen berry dessert and to my surprise, Jake's aunt Kas made it!!! I love when that happens. I finally got the recipe for it and I decided to make some to freeze for dessert, maybe it will be a slightly healthier choice than ice cream :)....All you need to make the delicious dessert is....frozen berries (raspberries, blueberries, black berries), cool whip, and Fat Free condensed milk...you mix them all together and.... wallah!
Well Jake and I started our day out by doing what we always do...work out at our little gym. We really do love that we both have made fitness a big part of our lives, it really does make you feel so good inside and out plus it's just one of those things we can do together :) after we worked out we went golfing...which has become a fun activity to do this summer. I actually am starting to get a hang of my swing so I can actually hit the ball pretty decently! Sadly I am almost out of my pink and purple balls! oh I hate when I lose them.
Well little miss Roxy sure is growing up...she will actually be 4 months old 9 days!!! It's crazy...She weights a whopping 16lbs now! Earlier today I cleared out all her NEWBORN clothes and put them in a bag for the next baby...that's if we have another GIRL! It's crazy how quickly babies go through clothes...It doesn't help that they are so darn expensive too! good thing Family dollar always had pretty good deals.
Well I am going to enjoy the rest of the night with my hubby and give little Roxy a both as well!

The (origional) Wild Rose Fam came to visit...

Jake's family decided to spend labor day weekend with us, it's always a fun filled adventure when they come!

Dan's and I  got snow cones a couple of times...my new favorite flavor is called Malibu Barbie with creme! It is delicious...I'm almost embarrassed every time I go there now since I get a snow cone pretty much every day, I really should cut down on the Sugary Ice treat. I figured winter is just around the corner so I'll be getting my Stephens Mint Hot Chocolate out of the cupboard soon :) We also always pay a visit to Family Dollar... I never thought I would like that store as much as I do, after all it's the only store we got in this little town :) but you can actually find some pretty nifty things in the store for really cheap.

Grandma Rose....Always sings " I love to see the Temple" to Roxy, It is super cute!

Dad just getting home from work...Sadly he had to work while his Fam was in town

little Issac pretending to be a monkey. Timmy spend most of the time up here on his head.. He loves to be upside down whether its doing a hand stand or a head stand, he could do it all day long! It's funny cuz I used to be the same way when I was little, I always loved to do hand stands

Aunt Dani with her little niece... She was the only one that swam this time, the rest of us were too lazy to go swimming!

Uncle Jaxon...He claims that he is Roxy's Favorite uncle!

Roxy's Photo Session- By Mom :)

1st 1/2 marathon... many to go!

Well the race butterflies started setting in the evening before the race. Brittney, Alivia, My Mom, Jenifer Harrison and Preston came up around 6 the night before. Brit, Jen and I drove up to Ashton to pick up our Race packets  or should I say Race "potato Bags" that had our Race numbers and Polo T also some other handy things like, foot lube to prevent your feet from blistering and some cereal bars. We also decided to Carb load it up and eat the Pre dinner they provided which was Spaghetti and garlic bread.
When we got home Brit and I set out our clothing and stuff we would need in the morning then we got our kids to sleep and tried the best we could to get some rest!...boy was it not the best nights sleep I've ever had. I remember I would get restless like this before the 10k races I had run when I was younger but it was a tad bit more nerve racking since I'd be running quite a  bit more! I knew that I had trained well for this race and that everything really was going to be just fine but it was still hard to sleep as well as I would have liked too. I even had a bad dream almost the entire night about not being able to make it to the starting line on time!
Finally morning came! It felt like Christmas morning. I was just excited to get the show on the road! I woke up at 6am just as Jake was getting home from work. I know poor guy only got to have about 4 hours of sleep till he would have to get up and be there when I finished the race.  I couldn't ask for a better more supportive hubby! :) He said he couldn't miss it for the world. My lovely mom drove us to Ashton to catch the bus at 7:30am that would take us to the starting line. We took some pictures and then we were on our way!

Off we go!!

The bus ride was only about a 10 or 15 minute drive so we had quite a bit of time to spare before the race actually started  so we were getting pretty anxious. It was cool we got to see the 1st 10 or so marathon runners pass by. When 8:30 finally rolled around Brit and I walked all the way to the front of the line slightly scared that we would be getting trampled over but we wanted to make sure we could get out of the big crowd as much as we could cuz the 1st 2 or so miles were on a single file dirt trail. A guy at the front said "Go" and we were on our way. We ran thru a camp site area around mile 3 thru 4 so we had some people cheering for us it was nice. Then mile 4 thru 7 or so was the steeper hills then the rest of the way was just little up and down hills which we didn't mind at all.  I almost looked forward to each hill just cuz just going straight for a long time kind of made the race drag on longer. When we reached mile 6 we took half of an energy gel which I think are amazing! I felt like a burst of energy kicked 15 minutes later, it was so nice! At mile 11 we took another half of an energy gel to finish off the race strong! When we got into town and turned the corner for the home stretch, I saw that our time was just a couple minutes past 2 hours! We both couldn't believe we had finished sooner than we thought we would! We weren't really looking for a time just wanting to finish! We both started to sprint to the finish line while the crowd cheered us on! It was such a great feeling to finish our first half marathon!!! We are both hooked!! I look forward to the next race!!
During the run we related the race to LIFE... The Hills we had to go up are like the trials and hardships we go through in life- Whenever we went up a hill we would say " just keep swimming, just keep swimming and I know we can, I know we can!" The Downhills were the blessings and Joys that "carry us" through life. We also thought about how there people along the way to cheer you on and keep you going through the hard times and the good. Also we knew that the race would come to an end eventually. Nothing "hard" ever lasts so it's important to keep things in perspective and not sweat the little things we go through.  We also learned every challenge you go through in life only makes you a stronger and better person!

I love my little Family!

Our little pride and Joys
This picture was taken just before Brit and I got our FREE huckleberry shake!
