Life is Good
why good morning!!! I am just sitting here on the couch with my little angel....Lately I've been thinking how incredibly grateful I am to be Roxy's Mom and the wife to an amazing husband. There are just so many blessings BIG and SMALL that I feel almost spoiled rotten that I have. I can't thanks the lord enough for all that he has given us and continues to bless us. Roxy is getting so big and I try to keep in mind just how quickly everyone says their kids grow up....I am trying to just soak up every little moment of each day. She is such a Joy to have in our family. She is starting to be more active, it's getting harder to just hold her now cuz she tries to reach for everything and wants to feel and play with everything she sees. She is so cute.....I love how much she giggles. She makes here dad and I feel like we are the funniest people on earth. She loves to smile with her pointer finger in her mouth when she gets lots of attention...with that look she is gonna get whatever her little princess heart desires! I am totally ok with that since I was a princess once....I have to admit becoming a queen is even better cuz your eternal companion (king) gets to spoil you for ETERNITY although I know my dad still spoils me the 2nd I ask for something he is always more than willing to help me out. My mom is the same way. We both have such great parents to look to as role models they are wonderul!!! Life has been good to us :) Well I best be off to they gym...I'm working at the Spa this afternoon

Roxy's 1st PUMPKIN!!!
Dad carved Roxy's Name into the Pumpkin! It will be fun when Roxy can do her own next year! |
The Roxy Logo, I carved. The center of It fell apart while Jake was holding it and Roxy was inside of it. All well at least I got a good picture of it 1st! |
Alba is looking super anxious to eat more of the pulp...she loves it! |
Roxy playing with her pumpkin pulp....I've actually always loved playing with the slimy gooey pulp....it looks like Roxy does to!
Yes Roxy loved sucking on the pumpkin! |
Love it! |
Daddy's little Pumpkin |
Isn't she the cutest little pumpkin ever!? |

Green Peas and Bananas!!!
Roxy has started to really build up a BIG appetite lately...I had a feeling that maybe she is ready for REAL food other than her momma's milk. I tried feeding her rice cereal in Utah but she didn't care for it. I don't think it settled very well either cuz she threw most of it back up...poor thing. I even tried it and I think the stuff is nasty so I don't blame her! I decided to puree some green beans and bananas and they were a hit! especially the GREEN BEANS. It is so cute watching her eat. I hope that here stomach will be able to stay full longer now especially through the night.
Other big news is....She can now roll over COMPLETELY....She'll start on her back and roll to her tummy and then roll back over onto her back! We just love watching her go through every little stage, it's so exciting!
Well no luck with Jake's getting his 1st buck. Jake even worked graveyard last night and right when he got off at 6am he went hunting for a few hours with his buddy that he worked graveyard with. He's crazy for doing it on no sleep! I don't know how he functions so well during the day but somehow he does and he isn't even grumpy at all like I would probably be on no sleep! I guess a lot of the deer died last winter so it is pretty sparse this year. His last day to hunt will be Monday so we will see if he gets something! The whole Fam bam went with Jake on Tuesday Morning...We saw a few deer that Jake and Alba went to try and hunt down while Roxy and I waited in the truck. We both fell asleep by time they got back..hee. Also on our way home we were driving on the road next to the sand dunes and there were 5 or so doe and 1 buck that cut us off crossing the street. Jake quickly pulled to the side of the road and booked it down the road to try and track the buck down. He was able to catch up with the doe cuz they had to jump over a fence but the Buck was no where in sight! I'm starting to realize hunting isn't the easiest sport, It's definitely hit and miss. Jake has had a lot of fun being apart of the whole hunting world.
What I like the most is he now likes to ride HORSES!!! Before he didn't really care for horses all that much. I am always trying to get him to take me horseback riding. His uncle Randy took him up hunting this week as well and he got to ride one of the horses(Jessie)...Jake couldn't believe the horse could go up such steep hills like they were. The horse that he was on even fell back once and Jake had to jump off of it. He had a blast riding them tho. Jake may even be convinced to stay in IDAHO forever and be a true cowboy/hunter like his uncle and raise our little family here. We would even have horses and everything! I told him that can be our plan B or retirement if the whole Law school thing and working in the same law firm as his dad's in Salt Lake. I really don't think it would be all that bad to live in Idaho, We have actually really enjoyed living in the little town...life is just easy going and slow paced, it's relaxing :).
Roxy gets her 2nd set of shots on Monday which I'm not too excited for. It needs to be done tho, she is a month behind since I have been stalling to get it done.
Well I'm gonna go drop off some fried rice for my hubby while he works his last day till his break. All is well in our little world!!! :)
Yummy!!!.....GREEN BEANS!! |
Here is Roxy's 1st picture with a MESSY face....still so cute she is! |

HOME SWEET HOME!
Well Jake came to pick his little family up in Idaho Falls. We spent the night in the hotel and left early this morning after breakfast....Roxy is 5 MONTHS TODAY!!! I can't believe how quickly time goes. I know people always tell me once you have kids time just flies by and soon enough we'll be planning their wedding! It's so true. Jake and I have also been married for 17 months today! Best 17 months of our lives! Really life couldn't be better with how things have unraveled in our lives. I just love that I married someone from my childhood, let alone a childhood crush of mine. it just couldn't have worked out better for us. We realize how extremely blessed we are and we hope to use those blessings to bless other lives; We want to make that a lifelong goal of ours. Jake is getting ready to go hunting tomorrow morning, hopefully he gets one soon so I can have him to myself on his OFF days! I know i'm selfish that way :). I do have lots I want to do such as un-pack which I always dread doing. Luckily my mom and I stayed up in Park city where they had a washer and dryer so most of our clothes just need to be put away. All in all It's always great to be home. There is nothing better than snuggling up in your own bed. I had a really good time in Utah tho, I got to spend a lot of time with my mims, we had fun up in Park city walking around town and going to the outlets...spend, spend, spend! I got Roxy her Christmas dress! We also got a matching one for Alivia, I am super excited to have them wear them together!
Roxy's 1st Pea Coat! I got it from old navy, I just love it to pieces!Although it is tricky getting her buckled up in her car seat when she has it on. |
I love my little Tigger :) |
Grandma Rose visiting her favorite grandchild! |
YES this would be Roxy's 3 Halloween outfit....She went from a Fairy....to a Skeleton....and now Tigger! She will be a Fairy tho for Halloween.
PARK CITY, UT

I love the Snugli, It's so much easier than lugging a stroller around sometimes! My mom, Roxy and I stayed in Park City an Extra couple of nights. |
Jake turned into a Bear! hee |
1ST TROLLEY RIDE!
We just went up and down the main street in down town park city. The driver told us about the moose that were at the bottom of the street so he dropped us off there so we could see them |

Last stop!....Twin Falls, Idaho
Roxy got her ears pierced yesterday!!! I drove up to Twin Falls with my parents since my dad has a cabinet job at the post office here. Jake is also going to meet us down here tonight so we will be able to take my vanity up to Saint Anthony and even better Jake will have his little family back!! He said no more vacations without him, hee :). Ne ways back to the BIG news. My mom and I went to the mall while my dad installed the cabinets. We just happened to see a Clair's store. Jake and I have been thinking about getting her ears pierced but weren't exactly sure when we would do it. Just recently tho she had been called a boy so I decided it should be done sooner than later! So just out of curiosity I asked the lady how old you have to be to get them done. She said atleast 3 months with proof of immunization. Since Roxy will be 5 months tomorrow she was old enough and didn't need proof of immunizations so we decided to go ahead and do it. Of course I chose Pink 14k gold studs. I got knots in my stomach just after deciding to do it since I knew what would come next...the startling piercing my precious little angel would have to get done! I put Roxy on my lap and the very blonde haired lady marked where she would make the piercings with a marker and I approved of it, then she went for it! I had to close my eyes. Roxy let out a gasp and 2 seconds later she had shiny pink studs in her ears! I quickly went to a dressing room in the Macy's department store and fed her. Roxy calmed down right away, she was hungry and it was comforting for her. It cost us $45.00 to do. My dad said that he remembers getting my ears pierced done when I was in between 1 and 2 years old. He just took me to a department store in Salt Lake and got it done. I told Jake right away, he was surprised but is excited to see his little girl with earrings. I also realized we got them done on October 14th...which 14 and 16 is a significant number in our Marriage. While I was waiting for Jake on his mission...we set a wedding date the 2nd half of his mission to MAY 14TH 2010. Of course we ended up just having our wedding reception on that date and got sealed on the 16th of March after praying about it and realizing it would be best if our date be moved up especially since Jake started school up at BYU-I in April and there was no way we would be apart for one more day after 2 years!
I'm excited for my hubby to be here. We will spend the night here and head back tomorrow morning. We hope to make it to church tomorrow.
Well I'm off to the gym but I love my little girls new earrings I can't wait for her Daddy to see them! My brother nick asked why I got them done and I said....cuz she is a PRINCESS! and he said....'OH NO NOT ANOTHER PRINCESS! haha
Oh and we also got a really good deal on matching Christmas dresses for Aliva and Roxy. They were 40% off plus we got 10 dollars off the discount price so they only cost 15 dollars! I'll have to post pics of them in their pretty dresses!

Utah Trip
Well we have been in Utah since Friday afternoon. We came down as soon as Jake got off work at 6am. I drove while Jake slept. Grandma Patty came with us. She always loves to sit in the back with Roxy and the dog. She helps out a lot by entertaining Roxy for the 3 hour car ride. When we got into Bountiful. My mom and I made our usual trip to Costco to get food for our stay in Park City. My mom, Brittney, Alivia and Roxy headed up to Park City later that afternoon. I was starting to wonder if I was actually going to be running the 1/2 marathon or not cuz I couldn't get a hold of my friend that was hooking us up with a free entry by her uncle. To make a long story short...We didn't end up running the race. I guess Her uncle had to drop out of sponsoring for us last minute since I guess he is having issues with his family right now and even contemplating a divorce. I guess since he had been on Last seasons Biggest Loser Television show with Roulon Gardner, speculations of him having affairs arose. I was sort of bummed and Brittney even said she wouldn't mind running the 10k with me if it wasn't too late to sign up which by the way she is PREGNANT again! (don't be offended if you haven't heard the news yet, she just barely told my family and still hasn't told hers yet) We decided to drive down to the convention and see what we could do and apparently they didn't even have a 10k and they didn't have any more room for the 1/2. They did say that we could volunteer for this race and get 50% discount next year on the race fee but we decided not to since I have no idea whether or not I'd be pregnant again. We tried, but it sort of was a good thing I didn't run cuz it was SNOWING the morning of the race, that would have been miserable, although Brittney and I decided to run outside anyways. We only did a few miles, then I finished off in the gym at the Marriott time share where we are staying. Jake came up Saturday afternoon after he went to the U game with his dad. The Roses all came up and had dinner with us as well. Jake headed back to Bountiful Sunday afternoon and spent some time with his family before him and Patty headed back up to Saint Anthony. Jake wanted to go hunting with his uncle before he went back to work Tuesday night. Roxy and I will go to Twin Falls with my parents on Friday since my dad has a Job up there then Jake will pick us up from there on Saturday and we will head back home together with my lovely VANITY that my sweet dad is making me. I am actually going to do the staining for it after lunch today, I am excited to see it!
Last night I went over to Jake's parents house and we had Chili and Cake for Jaxon's Birthday, he turns 11 today. Around 9 I took Roxy to my parents house where we slept for the night and put her to bed. I actually tried feeding her Rice cereal with my milk to see if her tummy would stay a little fuller through the night. It seemed to have helped a bit. After I talked to my honeybuns, and spent some time with my family I joined Roxy. Around 2am I started to feel super nautious and even threw up a couple times. I immediately thought, am i pregnant? Also, earlier I had went for a 6 mile run with my dad while we were still in Park City, which he kicked my butt by the way, but I was feeling super light headed and I almost thought I was going to faint. I don't know though I could just be sick again for the 3rd time this winter! I really hope Roxy doesn't get sick, she has seemed to be fine so far. I am starting to feel a little better now so we will see soon enough, I told Jake and he said he would be more than happy to have another little angel even if it was earlier than we had planned. As for me I wouldn't be opposed at all, I'm sure people would think we were crazy tho! Roxy has been an absolute joy to have and I can't imagine how much more joy it will bring to have another baby.
As for Jake's hunting, he went with his uncle Randy, aunt Wendy and little Jake. They seemed to have a good time. Jake said they literally drove around the desert for 12 hours looking for deer. They saw a handful of doe which only little Jake can shoot. On their way out they saw a couple of Buck as well but they weren't able to get a good shot at them. He said he saw some Moose as well but he doesn't have permit to shoot them either. He went this morning with just his Uncle Randy as well so maybe he will get one today! I am sort of torn between the whole hunting thing cuz I like that Jake is hunter like my dad was and spends time out doors but I am not so much a fan of the actual kill. I could never shoot a cute little animal. My dad was saying tho most of the deer die off anyways during the Winter.
Well I am gonna take Roxy to Grandma Joy's while I help my dad with the Vanity. I'll be sure to update if there happens to be another baby on board :)

Run...Golf...Grandpa...& of course Roxy :)
I started off my day with a 7 or 8 mile run...not exactly sure how far I went but I was running for about an hour and a half. I have been sick for the last few days so I haven't been able to run like I want to which makes me a little nervous for the race coming up. I felt pretty good running this morning tho. I took Alba dog with me and the poor thing has been limping around the house since we got home! She is doing a little better now and in fact still wanted to play fetch a couple times. I'm sure I'll do just fine especially with the pre-race adrenalin you get pumping through your veins the night before so you can sleep...it's great! It's nice cuz I'm doing it with a girl I work with. Her uncle was on biggest loser last season (he was paired up with the famous Rulon Gardner) but he was the one that asked my friend if she would like to run in the park city marathon and he would sponsor her and her friends so she asked if I wanted to do it, and I said yes! so we don't have to pay the entrance fee and he even is providing hotel rooms for us. My parents will actually be coming up to support me so Jake and I are gonna stay with them in their hotel instead since I've got little miss Roxy to care for as well. Since the race is for Breast Cancer...it's an ALL womens race. Which means i need to get me some pink running gear, I've already got my pink running shoes Jake got me for my last race but I need a cute pink tank top! My dad wanted to run with me, too bad it's just for girls....men get breast cancer to tho! My friends uncle is apart of the Pink MEN Staff so he will be there to help out with everything. It should be fun. I may even want to do this one every year...that's if i'm not prego! I just love park city tho. I've had some good family trips up there. It's so pretty and I love going to the outlets. We used to go on the Alpine slide as when we were younger. I remember going with my mom and we crashed! My mom gushed up her knee pretty bad.
Jake and I did a round $5 dollar Family Night Golf today. We have been taking advantage of it the last few Mondays since winter is just around the corner. I have REALLY enjoyed golfing with Jake. This has been my 1st year and it certainly won't be my last. I just love being out doors. Plus I can actually hit the ball rather well now. I have even parred a couple of times. It will be a fun hobby for Jake and I through out the years. I'm sure we won't be getting such a good hookup when we move away tho, it will be fun to teach our kids how to golf, I'm sure they will enjoy it.
I just found out that Jake's dad will be staying with us tonight until Thursday. He has work to do up here for his law Firm. He also wants to spend as much time as he can with his dad...MUTT ROSE. He hasn't been feeling so well lately. The other day while we were in IF for Jake's hunters safety we got a call from Jake's dad saying that Grandpa had fainted and he feels like he is going to die so we frantically drove home and when straight over to see him. He seemed to be doing lots better. The best part is Jake asked if he could give him a blessing for the 5th or so time and he actually said YES. Jake said that it's kind of a scary thing that he said yes cuz that means he really isn't feeling like he has much longer to live. He has been struggling for the last 5 or so years and has been on oxygen. I remember Jake was in tears when his grandpa told him at his mission farewell that he may not be here when Jake gets back from his mission. It was hard for Jake to take in. So many people love Mutt Rose. He is one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet. I remember coming up here when I was little and everyone would always share a good laugh when he would go off the rope swing in his black knee high socks and looking like he was sitting in a chair when he went in the water. It was a classic. a famous saying he has is...."Nobody has more fun than people" We actually have a sign of it hanging up in our living room. Another classic saying of his was whenever we had a parade he would always say as loud as he could..." throw some Candy" and boy did we get showered with candy! The entire city knows and loves him. He actually was the mayor during the time that the Damn broke. I have really grown to love him even more since Jake and I have been up here. He recently gave me a new nickname...LOU LOU. Jake's uncle and aunt call me it now. My Y.W. girls actually gave me the same nickname last year. He will greatly be missed by many. Hopefully he sticks around for a while longer. It's never fun losing those we love. It's good to know that we will see them again tho. I love having that kind of perspective on life, it's such a HUGE comfort and brings lots of peace during times of tragedy and loss. I know many people Jake and I love will pass away, it's inevitable. We always get sad thinking about it but it's wonderful to know that we will see them ALL again someday.

Happy OCTOBER B.T.W.!!!
Sunday Afternoon Session
Elder Nelson: The Blessings of the Gospel.
Eternal life is the greatest gift. I went visiting teaching with Sarah Everill and she gave the lesson. She read a passage from the General Relief Society meeting that talked about how....The things we do NOW will effect where we end up for eternity. Sometimes we think that eternal life is something to put aside and worry about later but you never know when your journey on earth is over so try to be the Best you can be each day.
Elder Oaks: Desire and Obedience is what we must have in order to find truth.
Elder Richardson: It is the holy ghost that is the "Real" teacher. We must teach by the spirit.
Align the manner of our teaching with the holy ghost.
1st: The holy ghost teaches in a very personal way, the holy ghost teaches line upon line, precept upon precept. 2nd the holy ghost teaches through promptings. It leads and guides us. What can i do for my children? how do i invite those around me to learn for themselves? teach your children to learn values rather than learn about values. We desperately need "Real" teaching.
Elder Yamashita: Missionary Work
1: Have a Desire to preach the gospel.
2: Develop your Testimony
3: Love others
Missionaries are a Treasure of this church.
Decisions determine our Eternal Destiny. We are free to choose Eternal Life or Captivity and Death. Are you choosing Eternal life? There is safety and Joy through following our Savior. We must Choose Righteousness over Worldliness, we cannot choose both. The longer we delay corrective action the harder it is to get back on track. Your Eternal Destiny will not be a result of chance, it will be of Choice. CTR! :)
Elder Cornish: Heavenly Father wants to bless us. Prayers provide us with spiritual strength.
Well I can't believe conference is over...it went by quick....too quickly. There is still a lot of talks I want to hear from Saturdays session as well as the general relief Society Conference. Thank goodness for the lds.org website and of course our Ensign :) oh how I love this Gospel.
